Mythical Landscapes

This piece for wind ensemble will excite both players and audience alike! Mythical Landscapes tells the story of a fantastical journey through mysterious yet glorious lands. It opens slowly and quietly with a drone and bassoon duet, followed by the flute. Shortly after, the piece swells with intensity as the rest of the ensemble joins in. The second section is much faster and utilizes the different section colors to create a frantic, yet exciting atmosphere. Mythical Landscapes is written with the Passacaglia form in mind, utilizing two main melodies throughout the whole work.
